HORSE BIT TRUST SWEET IRON 2.5 RING BRASS RING 16MM

The TRUST Sweet Iron 2.5 Ring Brass Ring Bit combines the stimulating action of the Brass Ring mouthpiece with the additional control offered by the 2.5 Ring cheekpiece. This bit is particularly suitable for horses that tend to become heavy in the contact or have a less responsive, “dead” mouth and require additional stimulation.

The mouthpiece features brass rings in the centre, designed to encourage tongue activity, chewing and responsiveness. This can help create a lighter and more active contact between horse and rider. Horses with very sensitive mouths may find the additional movement more stimulating, which can result in a less stable contact.

The 2.5 Ring cheekpiece is a milder alternative to a traditional 3-ring (Pessoa) bit. It creates a leverage effect that can help improve control and responsiveness. The lower the rein is attached, the stronger and more direct the action becomes. The leverage action applies pressure primarily to the poll, just behind the ears, encouraging the horse to soften and respond to the rider's aids.

Unlike a fixed-ring version, the loose rings move freely through the mouthpiece, creating more mobility and a softer, less direct transmission of rein aids.

The mouthpiece is manufactured from Sweet Iron, a material that naturally oxidises when exposed to moisture. This oxidation process creates a sweet taste that stimulates salivation and encourages acceptance of the bit.
