New Freejump riding helmet with increased temporal protection

Every year, emergency departments see a huge number of people with head injuries. Around a quarter of these injuries are due to sports or leisure accidents. They are due to the fragility of the brain, but also to the thinness of the skull: the skull protects brain cells from the weakest blows, but can also compress them in the event of haemorrhage.

Protecting the temple reduces the risk of concussion to the most fragile part of the skull, the temporal area. Behind the temporal bone lies the meningeal artery. The slightest trauma can damage this artery and form a hematoma, compressing brain cells and leading to serious after-effects, even death. The Voronoï helmet is the only helmet to take the temporal area into account. The rigid shell protects the temple by absorbing and distributing the shockwave over a large surface area, while reducing the possibility of hitting the temporal area if the force of the impact were to deform the tip of the helmet.

The Voronoï’s outer shell is designed in carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is a high-tech material. Thanks to its layered structure of interwoven fibers, the carbon fiber shell offers exceptional impact resistance while being incredibly light (weight of the Voronoï helmet with low temporal protection: +/-650gr). The Voronoï outer shell perfectly combines lightness and strength for enhanced protection of the skull and temple.

Voronoï’s inner shell is made from EPS, one of the most absorbent on the market. A rib reinforces the structure and ensures above-standard crush resistance. Freejump has taken its inspiration from bicycle and ski helmet technology by integrating a polycarbonate sheet directly on top of the EPS. This in-molding technology of EPS with polycarbonate, combined with the carbon fiber outer shell, offers exceptional impact resistance thanks to this 3-layer construction.

Inspired by the distinctive geometric pattern that gives the helmet its name, the vents are designed to optimize airflow for exceptional thermal regulation. The Voronoï pattern, with its irregular geometric cells, creates a unique and captivating aesthetic reminiscent of dragonfly wings. Each cell of the Voronoï pattern is carefully positioned to maximize resistance and airflow through the helmet, optimizing safety, ventilation and breathability.

The temple protection fits onto the Voronoï helmet to protect the temples and reduce the risk of concussions to this most fragile part of the skull. The temporal area is responsible for 80% of serious brain injuries.

The temple protection part is made of carbon fiber and is available in black gloss.

5 ear edges colors available: black gloss, black matte, bronze, rosé gold and sky blue.

3 sizes available: S, M and L.

The Voronoï helmet is available with, or without, temporal protection. The lower part (temporal protection) of the helmet can be removed and reassembled. We advise you to choose the complete configuration (with temporal protection), even if you can buy and therefore add the temporal protection at a later date.
