The SaHoMa®-II Filter Membranes are an essential component of the SaHoMa®-II inhalation system for horses. Designed to support effective inhalation therapy, they help create an almost closed system around the horse’s nose, allowing the aerosol to remain inside the inhalation mask and be inhaled directly by the horse.
Unlike conventional inhalation systems that use rotating air valves, the SaHoMa®-II system uses a filter membrane that allows the horse to breathe in and out with minimal resistance. This helps reduce the risk of panic reactions in horses experiencing respiratory difficulties, while limiting the release of medication-contaminated air into the surrounding environment.
Key Features:
Allows the horse to breathe in and out with minimal breathing resistance
Helps prevent medication-contaminated air from escaping into the environment
Helps reduce aerosol and medication loss
Works with the SaHoMa®-II sealing ring to create an almost closed system around the horse’s nose
Designed for use with the SaHoMa®-II inhalation mask
Set includes 5 filter membranes
Service Life and Replacement:
The filter membranes are consumable components subject to normal wear and tear. When used as intended, with one daily inhalation session using 15 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution (NaCl), the typical service life of each membrane is one day.
Replace the membrane depending on how frequently it is used and how dirty it becomes. The membranes are not suitable for cleaning. Replacement is recommended once the component reaches the end of its service life. Actual service life may vary depending on usage and whether medication is nebulized.
Always follow the instructions for use. For warranty information, consult the relevant section of the instructions.
