The Trust Sweet Iron 2.5-Ring Eggbutt Dr. Bristol bit is designed for riders seeking enhanced control while maintaining refined communication with their horse. The 2.5-ring cheekpiece offers a mild leverage effect, making it ideal for horses that may become strong or inattentive, especially in jumping or fast-paced disciplines.
The Dr. Bristol mouthpiece consists of two joints with a flat center plate set at an angle. This design applies targeted pressure to the tongue, encouraging responsiveness without being overly harsh — ideal for horses that tend to lean on the bit or ignore softer aids. The eggbutt cheeks ensure a stable, quiet position in the horse’s mouth and help prevent pinching at the corners of the lips.
Crafted from Sweet Iron, the bit oxidizes over time to produce a sweet taste that stimulates salivation and encourages acceptance. Horses generally soften in the contact and chew more actively with Sweet Iron, making this bit both functional and horse-friendly.
