HORSE BIT TRUST SWEET IRON 3 RING BRASS RINGS 16MM

The TRUST Sweet Iron 3 Ring Brass Ring Bit combines the stimulating action of the Brass Ring mouthpiece with the versatile control offered by the popular 3 Ring (Pessoa) cheekpiece. This bit is designed for horses that require additional responsiveness in the mouth while benefiting from adjustable leverage and enhanced control.

The mouthpiece features brass rings in the centre, making it particularly suitable for horses with a less responsive or "dead" mouth. The brass rings encourage tongue activity, chewing and acceptance of the contact, helping to create a lighter and more active connection between horse and rider. For highly sensitive horses, the additional movement may result in a more active or unsettled mouth.

The 3 Ring cheekpiece, also known as a Pessoa cheekpiece, creates a leverage effect that can be adjusted depending on rein placement. The lower the reins are attached, the stronger the leverage action becomes. This allows riders to tailor the bit's effect to the horse's level of training and responsiveness. The bit acts on the mouth, poll and, depending on the configuration, can provide additional control when needed.

The mouthpiece is manufactured from Sweet Iron, a material that naturally oxidises when exposed to moisture. This oxidation process creates a sweet taste that stimulates salivation and encourages the horse to accept the bit more willingly.
