Fly rugs are designed to protect horses from flies, mosquitoes, horseflies, and other insects during the warmer months. They help reduce irritation, discomfort, and skin sensitivity while allowing horses to feel more relaxed in the field or paddock.
In this category you will find:
- lightweight fly rugs;
- fly rugs with neck covers;
- UV protection fly rugs;
- sweet itch rugs for sensitive horses;
- combined insect and sun protection models.
Fly rugs are made from lightweight, breathable, tightly woven fabrics that provide excellent airflow while protecting the horse from insect bites without causing overheating, even on hot summer days.
Many models feature:
- UV protection against sunlight;
- detachable or integrated neck covers;
- belly protection panels;
- anatomical cuts for freedom of movement;
- soft anti-rub linings;
- cross surcingles for improved stability.
Fly rugs are especially beneficial for sensitive horses, horses prone to insect allergies, or suffering from sweet itch. A properly selected fly rug helps protect the horse’s skin, reduce stress caused by insects, and improve overall comfort during turnout.
In this category you will find fly rugs from Horseware, Bucas, Kentucky Horsewear, WeatherBeeta, and other trusted equestrian brands known for quality, comfort, and durability.
